The General gastroenterology program at the Redus Center for Digestive Health is focused on diagnosing, treating, and managing disorders related to the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. This includes the esophagus, stomach, intestines (small and large), liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile ducts. Our general gastroenterology providers are skilled in managing a wide range of conditions such as:

  1. Acid reflux and GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease): Problems with stomach acid backing up into the esophagus.
  2. Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS): A chronic condition affecting the large intestine, causing symptoms like cramps, bloating, and diarrhea or constipation.
  3. Peptic ulcer disease: Includes peptic ulcer disease in the stomach and small intestine.
  4. Liver Diseases: Conditions like hepatitis, cirrhosis, fatty liver disease, and liver cancer.
  5. Celiac Disease: An autoimmune disorder where ingesting gluten causes damage to the small intestine.
  6. Gastrointestinal Bleeding: Identifying and treating sources of bleeding within the GI tract.
  7. Colon Cancer Screening: Performing colonoscopies and other tests to detect cancer or pre-cancerous growths.
  8. Pancreatitis: Inflammation of the pancreas, often linked to gallstones or heavy alcohol use.
