The General gastroenterology program at the Redus Center for Digestive Health is focused on diagnosing, treating, and managing disorders related to the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. This includes the esophagus, stomach, intestines (small and large), liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile ducts.
Introduction to General Surgery
General surgery is a field of medicine that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of surgical conditions affecting various parts of the body. General surgeons are trained to perform a wide range of procedures, often dealing with issues related to the abdomen, gastrointestinal tract, breasts, skin, and soft tissues.
Interventional Endoscopy
At the Center for Interventional Endoscopy at the Redus Center for Digestive Health, our specialists are focused on advanced, minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat complex gastrointestinal (GI) disorders. Our advanced endoscopists use cutting-edge endoscopic techniques to manage pancreatobiliary and other conditions that traditionally required surgery. Hepatitis and Liver Disease
Nigeria has one of the world’s heaviest burden of chronic hepatitis, with over 20 million people infected with Hepatitis B and C, many of whom are unaware of their status. The specialists in the Hepatology program at the Redus Center for Digestive Health manage both acute and chronic liver conditions, often working closely with surgeons, oncologists, and infectious disease specialists.
Inflammatory Bowel Disease
The IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) program at the Redus Center for Digestive Health is focused on diagnosing, managing, and treating chronic inflammatory conditions of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, primarily Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
Colorectal Cancer Screening and Early Detection
Colorectal cancer is the 4th most common cancer in Nigeria, and its incidence is increasing. Early-onset colorectal cancer cases (cancer diagnosis in those younger than 50 years) are also rising. The Colorectal cancer (CRC) screening and early detection program at the Redus Center for Digestive Health aims to identify precancerous polyps or early-stage colorectal cancer in asymptomatic individuals, reducing incidence and mortality.
