Yes. Click here or call our office to book an appointment now. You have the option to schedule an in-office or virtual appointment.

No. Unless you are an insured patient and your insurance plan requires a referral from your primary care physician to see a specialist. Many allow direct appointments.

Please bring a list of current medications and the dosage for each, past medical records (if available), a list of symptoms or concerns, information about your medical insurance, any forms you have been asked to provide, and the name, address, email or phone number of the referring physician, if applicable.

Screening & Prevention

Screening is recommended for average-risk individuals starting at age 40 by the Society for Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Nigeria, due to the relatively young age of colorectal cancer diagnosis in Nigeria.

Screening options include colonoscopy, stool-based tests (FIT, gFOBT, Cologuard), flexible sigmoidoscopy, and CT colonography. Your doctor will recommend the best option based on your risk factors. Colonoscopy is the gold standard for screening.

Digestive Health Conditions

Symptoms may include abdominal pain, bloating, heartburn, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, rectal bleeding, and difficulty swallowing. Persistent or severe symptoms should be evaluated by a specialist.

Eating a high-fiber diet, staying hydrated, avoiding processed foods, reducing alcohol intake, managing stress, and exercising regularly can improve digestion.

Procedure & Preparation

Preparation includes a clear liquid diet the day before and drinking a prescribed bowel prep solution to cleanse your colon. Specific instructions will be provided by your doctor.

Yes, most patients receive sedation to ensure comfort during the procedure. In some cases where the patient prefers this, some diagnostic procedures can be performed without sedation.

Most routine procedures, such as upper endoscopy (EGD) and colonoscopy, take 15–30 minutes, but you should plan to be with us for approximately 3 hours. During this time, you will be checked in, have the procedure completed, and recover from the sedation.
