Do you offer virtual visits?
Yes. Click here or call our office to book an appointment now. You have the option to schedule an in-office or virtual appointment.
Do I need a referral to see a gastroenterologist?
No. Unless you are an insured patient and your insurance plan requires a referral from your primary care physician to see a specialist. Many allow direct appointments.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Please bring a list of current medications and the dosage for each, past medical records (if available), a list of symptoms or concerns, information about your medical insurance, any forms you have been asked to provide, and the name, address, email or phone number of the referring physician, if applicable.
Screening & Prevention
At what age should I start colorectal cancer screening?
Screening is recommended for average-risk individuals starting at age 40 by the Society for Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Nigeria, due to the relatively young age of colorectal cancer diagnosis in Nigeria.
What are the different colorectal cancer screening options?
Screening options include colonoscopy, stool-based tests (FIT, gFOBT, Cologuard), flexible sigmoidoscopy, and CT colonography. Your doctor will recommend the best option based on your risk factors. Colonoscopy is the gold standard for screening.
Digestive Health Conditions
What are common symptoms of digestive disorders?
Symptoms may include abdominal pain, bloating, heartburn, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, rectal bleeding, and difficulty swallowing. Persistent or severe symptoms should be evaluated by a specialist.
What lifestyle changes can improve digestive health?
Eating a high-fiber diet, staying hydrated, avoiding processed foods, reducing alcohol intake, managing stress, and exercising regularly can improve digestion.

How do I prepare for a colonoscopy?
Preparation includes a clear liquid diet the day before and drinking a prescribed bowel prep solution to cleanse your colon. Specific instructions will be provided by your doctor.
Will I be sedated during an endoscopy or colonoscopy?
Yes, most patients receive sedation to ensure comfort during the procedure. In some cases where the patient prefers this, some diagnostic procedures can be performed without sedation.
How long does an endoscopic procedure take?
Most routine procedures, such as upper endoscopy (EGD) and colonoscopy, take 15–30 minutes, but you should plan to be with us for approximately 3 hours. During this time, you will be checked in, have the procedure completed, and recover from the sedation.

My first visit to the clinic and subsequent follow up gave me an impression of a good set up to care for your patients. If this can be continued l see a great future for the hospital. The video follow up consultation by Dr Kene Olufemi Chudy-Onwugaje is by any standard in the world is great because I have my doctors in UK and USA. I pray you will be able to keep this up and also sustain it. I will say well done to the team head by Dr Kene. BlessingsPosted on BimbolaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently had the privilege of being a patient at Redus Digestive Health Centre in Lekki, with a recommendation from a renown UK/Canada based Doctor and my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked in, it was evident that this facility operates on a foundation of professional excellence, compassionate care, and seamless teamwork with no hierarchical divides. Qualities that are rare to find in many healthcare settings in Nigeria today. The hospital exemplifies operational excellence and a patient-first corporate culture. I experienced this during two successful procedures, followed by swift recovery due to their meticulous attention. Remarkably, every staff member, from security to operations to the entire medical team, is genuinely kind and supportive, going above and beyond without expecting anything in return. A truly outstanding healthcare experience like you will get in top developed nations with strong health care systems...Highly recommended!!!Posted on Chidiebele Ejikeme Joseph Uzoagba (Mahatma Utokanadu)Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The professionalism and quality of care that I encountered at Redus was simply outstanding. It is a well-equipped hospital, but the decor gives it the feel of a home rather than a cold clinical place. I found the personnel very warm and friendly, and I felt that I was in very good hands.
